The Economic Freedom of Iraq
These are the research papers for my students from Fall 2010 and Spring of 2011. The students’ assignment was to replicate two of the five components from the Economic Freedom of the World Index for Iraq as a whole or a region of Iraq. As Iraq is absent from the index, this material represents information unavailable elsewhere and contains some compelling insights. These volumes were published by the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani Press.

Data
I have a panel dataset for Colonial Governor Salaries in the British Empire from 1862 to 1911. I compiled this data from archives of the Colonial Office list (the annual report of the Colonial Office to Parliament). I also have electronic versions of years that are missing from the Library of Congress’s microfiche record. Click here to request any or all of these.
